Quick Answer
Match the replacement case to your exact AirPods model: AirPods 1 and 2 use Lightning with optional wireless charging, AirPods Pro 2nd gen uses USB-C and MagSafe, and Beats Solo Buds use USB-C. All options here are third-party — verify your generation number before ordering.
This replacement charging case for AirPods 1 and 2 supports wireless (Qi) charging, which is an upgrade if your original case was wired-only. The Lightning port is on the bottom for wired charging. It pairs to your iPhone the same way the original does — open the lid near your phone. If your original case has a dead battery or damaged hinge, this is a direct fix at a fraction of the cost of a new AirPods pair. Note: this is a third-party case — verify pairing with your specific AirPods generation before purchasing.

Wireless Charging Replacement Case for AirPods 1 and 2 White
$25
at Amazon
Best for: AirPods 1 and 2 users needing affordable spare charging case to keep at work
“A clean white wireless charging case replacement that brings older AirPods 1 and 2 into the wireless charging era affordably.”
Nearly identical in function to the previous pick but explicitly offered in the classic Apple white finish. If you want the case to look as close to the original as possible, this version matches better than off-white third-party cases. Supports Qi wireless charging. Good choice when aesthetics match matters as much as the fix itself.

AirPods Pro Replacement Charging Case with USB-C
$30
at Amazon
Best for: AirPods Pro users needing official-style replacement charging case
“A cost-effective AirPods Pro replacement case that restores USB-C wireless charging at a fraction of Apple's replacement cost.”
AirPods Pro owners who've damaged or lost their case will find this a much cheaper alternative to buying a complete new set. The USB-C port aligns with the current-generation AirPods Pro (2nd gen). Supports MagSafe and wireless charging in addition to wired. AirPods Pro cases have the same LED indicator and magnet attachment for the AirPods themselves as the original. Confirm your AirPods Pro generation before ordering — the original Pro used Lightning.

Replacement Charging Case for Beats Solo Buds USB-C
$19
at Amazon
Best for: Beats Solo Buds users needing replacement USB-C charging case
“The only way to replace a lost or damaged Beats Solo Buds case without buying entirely new earbuds.”
Beats Solo Buds use a proprietary case that's not always easy to find replacements for. This USB-C replacement case is the compatible option when the original charging case stops working or is lost. Beats earbuds pair differently than AirPods — they use a separate pairing button rather than a proximity sensor. Verify compatibility with your specific Beats model (Solo Buds vs Solo 4 vs others). The straightforward charging functionality restores the primary reason you bought the case in the first place.

AirPods Replacement Cases Buying Guide
Photo by Harvey Tan Villarino / Pexels
When to Buy a Replacement AirPods Case
AirPods cases fail in a few predictable ways: the battery dies and no longer charges the earbuds, the hinge cracks, the Lightning or USB-C port gets damaged, or the case is simply lost. Apple charges $49–$99 for replacement cases depending on model — third-party options cost significantly less for basic charging restoration.
The tradeoff: third-party cases don't carry Apple's fit-and-finish guarantee, and compatibility varies by AirPods generation. Always match the case to your exact model before purchasing.
How to Replace AirPods Pro (Lost or Damaged) in 2026
Check the model number on the inside of the case lid or in Settings > Bluetooth (tap the "i" next to your AirPods). AirPods 1 and 2 use the same case form factor. AirPods 3 has a different shape and uses a MagSafe + Lightning case. AirPods Pro 1st gen uses Lightning. AirPods Pro 2nd gen uses USB-C. Getting this wrong means an incompatible case.

Exact model compatibility: The most important factor. AirPods generations use different case shapes and charging standards. A Pro case doesn't fit regular AirPods.
Charging standard: Older AirPods cases charge via Lightning. Newer models use USB-C. Some third-party cases for AirPods 1/2 have added wireless charging (Qi) even if your original was wired-only — this is a useful upgrade.
LED indicator: Good replacement cases replicate the LED status light that shows charging and pairing status. Some cheap cases omit this.

Magnet strength: The case magnets hold the AirPods in place during transport. Weak magnets mean earbuds fall out when you open the case upside-down. This is hard to assess without reviews — check verified buyer feedback specifically on this point.
Apple official ($49–$99): Guaranteed compatibility, full warranty, exact fit and finish. Worth it if you plan to use the AirPods for several more years.
Third-party ($15–$35): Works for basic charging restoration. The risk is inconsistent quality control — some units have weaker magnets or slightly loose fits. Check reviews before buying from any specific brand. If you're bridging to a new AirPods purchase in 6–12 months, third-party is fine.
If the earbuds themselves are dead (battery, microphone, or audio issues), a replacement case won't help. The case charges the earbuds — it doesn't repair them. Likewise, if your AirPods have pairing issues, those are stored in the earbuds, not the case.
Can I use a replacement case with my original AirPods?
Yes. The case and earbuds are separate devices. You can replace the case and keep your original earbuds — they'll pair and charge normally with a compatible replacement case. The same works in reverse: lost earbuds with a working case means you only need replacement earbuds.
Will a third-party case affect AirPods pairing?
No. Pairing is handled by the AirPods themselves — the case just needs to open near your iPhone to trigger the pairing animation. Third-party cases with the correct magnet sensor placement replicate this. Avoid very cheap cases that skip the proximity sensor, as those require manual pairing each time.
How long does an AirPods case battery last?
Apple's cases are rated for 4–6 full charges of the AirPods themselves (translating to 24+ total listening hours). Most cases last 2–3 years before battery degradation becomes noticeable. If your case charges your AirPods less than twice per full charge, the case battery is degraded.
Can I charge my AirPods in a different generation case?
AirPods 1 and 2 use the same case, so swapping between those generations works. AirPods 3 has a different physical shape and won't fit in a 1/2 case. AirPods Pro cases only fit AirPods Pro. Never force a mismatch — the magnets won't align and charging contacts won't make proper connection.
Is it worth replacing a case or just buying new AirPods?
If the earbuds still sound good and hold charge reasonably well, replacing the case ($15–$30 third-party) is worth it. New AirPods start at $129. If the earbuds are also degraded, the math shifts toward a new set — especially since newer AirPods have significantly better audio quality, noise cancellation, and battery than early models.
We analyze Amazon review data — often thousands of reviews per product — to surface patterns
that individual buyers miss. Our process aggregates star ratings, review counts, and buyer
sentiment at scale, identifying which strengths and weaknesses appear consistently across
the largest review samples available. The 537+ reviews analyzed on this page represent real verified-purchase feedback from Amazon buyers.
Each product earned its placement through data: total review volume, average rating, and the
specific praise and complaints that repeat most often across buyers. No manufacturer paid for
placement on this page. Products appear here because buyers endorsed them at scale, not
because a company asked us to feature them.
We use AI to summarize review sentiment — not to fabricate opinions, but to condense what
